Archives Month Zine Workshop

October is Archives Month! This year’s theme for Washington State is “Express Yourself,” highlighting the diverse ways people have documented their lives, creative outlets, and personal perspectives. Archival repositories throughout the state hold materials of self-expression such as handwritten letters revealing thoughts and relationships; photographs of music and dance performances; protest signs and posters; and public comment and constituent correspondence showing the issues that have been important to people over time.

To celebrate, we’re partnering with King County Archives and 206 Zulu in a zine making workshop! Join us to learn how to make your own self-published zine, crafted with images sourced from the archives. We’ll be on hand to guide you through the basic steps and provide all materials needed, like paper, glue sticks, markers, and copies of lots of great photos and graphics scanned from our collections.

All are welcome but registration is required! Please call (206) 477-5281 or email archives@kingcounty.gov to sign up.

Hope to see you there!
